Bailey Shugart isPrincipalandco-founderofAllBlackForm– aninternationaldesign practice based in Los Angeles where her primary interest resides is in examining the relationship between computational design, digital technologies, and material exploration. Bailey has worked with various interior designers and architects throughout the Los Angeles area such as BplusU, RGA and Built Inc where she has held both project manager and architectural positions. Bailey is currently working on the completion of her Licensure in the state of California.
Bailey currently holds a teaching position at Woodbury University in Los Angeles in both the Architecture and Interior Architecture Department where she has taught design studios, seminars, and software and architectural thinking workshops in both the graduate and undergraduate levels. She was also recently appointed a one-year directorship position of the Wedge Gallery located on campus and has spent the last year curating a series of exhibitions which combines Artistry skills, digital fabrication, and Virtual Reality. In addition to teaching at the university, she has also worked with her partner in developing a Workshop teaching model, which takes place every summer at various universities around the world. These experimental workshops act as a creative outlet in which bailey is able to apply the theories of her digital expertise to architectural ideas.
While Raised in the small town of Page, Arizona, located on the Navajo Indian reservation, bailey was given a unique outlook on life and nature and exposed to a rare culture in which she has gained inspiration for the development of her Black line sketches and upcoming 3D printed jewelry line. Bailey is a graduate from Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) where she received her Master of Architecture Degree. Prior to this, she Studied at Arizona State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design and an Associate degree in Architectural Theory.
